The results of the OPEN4ALL project were presented during a meeting held in Catania, Italy, organised by Controvento, the coordinating organisation of the project. The event brought together professionals and stakeholders interested in inclusion, accessibility and communication support.
During the presentation, Controvento highlighted how the OPEN4ALL project addresses the barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities (PWID) and people with complex communication needs (CCN) in key areas such as education, health care, employment and social participation. Particular emphasis was placed on the project’s objectives of strengthening social inclusion, improving professional competences in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and promoting greater autonomy and active participation in daily life.
The presentation also focused on the project’s main activities, including the identification and sharing of good practices, the development of training materials and the AAC Toolkit, as well as the importance of transnational cooperation to ensure sustainable and long-term impact.
The meeting in Catania contributed to raising awareness of the project’s results and reinforced OPEN4ALL’s commitment to building a more inclusive society through improved communication accessibility for all.
